ENCE fill out IEM Winter list

Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer's men are the last to qualify for the December event.

ENCE round out the list of teams attending IEM Winter 2021 after a flawless run in the lower bracket of the closed qualifiers. The European mix suffered a 1-2 defeat against FunPlus Phoenix but didn't drop a map afterward, winning three consecutive series to qualify for the main event.

The Snappi-led squad clinched the third spot on offer in the European closed qualifier, behind fnatic and MOUZ, who swept through the upper bracket and locked the first two spots at the European LAN, which is scheduled for December 2-12.

hades was the best performer for ENCE with a 1.22 rating over nine maps

After the disappointing loss to FunPlus Phoenix on the opening round, ENCE quickly swept Complexity 2-0 as European squad had only recently added Aleksi "⁠allu⁠" Jalli to their roster as a temporary stand-in following their decision to bench Valentin "⁠poizon⁠" Vasilev.

On the second day of the event Snappi and co. made quick work of K23 on Overpass before closing the series on their own map pick of Nuke, completing the 2-0 sweep of the CIS squad.

The last game of the qualifiers saw ENCE get their rematch against FunPlus Phoenix, after the latter had dropped to the lower bracket on the previous day on the back of a loss to fnatic. ENCE took their opponents' map pick of Vertigo 16-12 thanks to the excellent performances of Lotan "⁠Spinx⁠" Giladi and Paweł "⁠dycha⁠" Dycha.

Going into the second map Martin "⁠STYKO⁠" Styk's men forced overtime on Dust2 after a last-minute comeback from 10-15 but were eventually unable to convert the map, losing 19-16 and conceding the last IEM Winter spot to ENCE.
